Friends of Coastal Discovery Center is a docent driven, grass root program to promote education to the visitors and residents of the San Simeon coast and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. This is not for profit and it is my goal to raise and use funds for the purpose of reimbursing cost to docents for their volunteer efforts, and to privately fund enhancement, educational and improvement projects for the Coastal Discovery Center and San Simeon Bay. I am not directly affiliated to either California State Parks, or the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. It is my personal goal to be able to contribute my efforts entirely to the San Simeon Coast and the MBNMS. With your help and contributions this can be achieved. Our coast presents a wonderful opportunity and location to educate and involve all visitors and residents in the betterment and understanding of our environment and the vast, diverse wildlife that calls our area home. This is your opportunity to make a difference by assisting the volunteer effort that we are starting. Docents spend countless hours and have many direct cost in their work and it is this programs goal to be able to reimburse them. This hopefully will encourage more people to get involved. |
